Thai Ladyboys – Katoeys

This is something I’ve mentioned at least once before here that I can remember about the uncanny knack ladyboys have for something.

A ladyboy could be across the street, bent over sweeping with a short broom in her milk & dessert store and STILL notice a guy looking at her when the guy flies by at 90km per hour in the lane of traffic opposite to the one next to her store.

The LAF is uncanny. It’s amazing… and it means a couple things:

1. This ladyboy is available if you want to travel down that route.
2. This ladyboy has worked in one of the three P’s.

• Pattaya
• Patong Beach
• Patpong

The guy flying by on the motorbike was me. I’ve seen this ladyboy many times – and still hadn’t figured out yet if she was a he. So, as I no more than glanced over, she immediately turned her head and stared at me go by – and there was eye contact even through 30 meters and 90kph speeds.

Ladyboys are AMAZING at this. They need to be. If you are walking the streets of Patong Beach where the girls outnumber the ladyboys 10 to one or more you’ll be able to notice girls that are working and ladyboys that are available. The reason is – they are looking to make eye contact with you. Once that’s accomplished – you can count on it right there – the girl/guy is available.

Though bargirls have it, the ladyboys have evolved this radar perfectly – they can see someone checking them out in a crowd of 100 people, and if the one you’re looking at in particular doesn’t see you looking, her friend WILL – 100%, without fail. AND, they can discrimate even through tens of meters – which one exactly you’re looking at. They’re amazing at this.

Anyway, just wanted to comment about this a little more in-depth.

Thai girls that never worked a bar don’t know what it is to make long eye-contact with a foreigner – or a Thai. I must re-qualify that… outside of Isaan. In Isaan people stare at you like you’re god… less than 1% of all tourists to Thailand visit the Northeast, so you can see why.
